Academic Work and the School Life

Welcoming New Students
God has richly blessed us with new students in a new location. We have 34 students who enrolled in our licensed program in Theology this fall. So, altogether with the previous enrolment, we have 50 students studying Theology in the government-licensed program.

We are inspired by the fact that most of them are young adults. This gives us great hope of raising 500 new ministers for our nation. TCI as well as other seminaries in Ukraine are working hard to meet this need.

The First Day of School and the Students’ Dedication ceremony took place at Filter Refugee Center, which TCI is running in Ivano-Frankivsk. Local pastors came to say words of blessing and encouragement to our students as they start their long way of learning. Below you can find a short video about that event:

Medical training for TCI’s students and staff

This school year is very different.
TCI students are facing challenges they never faced before – blackouts, threats of bombing, and the danger of freezing in cold winter. TCI does everything to minimize this threat – classes take place in the basement during the bombing alarms, and we are working on diversifying the sources of heating and training students on how to provide first aid.

First Interdenominational Pastoral Meeting in Ivano-Frankivsk
In September TCI invited pastors from different churches of Ivano-Frankivsk for the school year opening ceremony. It was the first time in the history of the region that pastors of different evangelical churches meet in the same facility.

We hope that TCI can be a good platform for interdenominational dialogue in Ivano Frankivsk like it was in Kherson. We pray that together these churches can strengthen their effectiveness in serving their communities, and refugees and eventually will bring glory to God through the unity they will demonstrate.

Book Translation Work

For over 30 years Ukraine is not a communist state. However, it was only five years ago, when Theology was recognized by the Ukrainian government as a study discipline. This gave an opportunity to Christian schools (which before existed only as religious organizations) to receive state licenses and become schools accredited with the state. TCI has become the first Evangelical school that went through the procedure and received the state license in Theology.

However, for obtaining full accreditation Christian schools are required to have theological textbooks in the Ukrainian language accredited by the Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science. Unfortunately, there are no Evangelical theological textbooks available in Ukrainian (just Orthodox and Catholic ones).

TCI decided to translate and publish key theological textbooks for licensed programs in Theology. They will be a great asset to all Evangelical Christian colleges in Ukraine attempting to receive a state license.

Thanks to our partners from Tyndale House, we were able to complete the first three textbooks.
