Encouraging Academic Research: International Conference held by TCI Explores Theological and Cultural Perspectives on Nation and Citizenship

On May 17-18, the International Scientific and Practical Conference was held in Kyiv. Organized by the TCI in collaboration with the Ukrainian Humanitarian Institute, Overseas Council-United World Mission, and ScholarLeaders, the event brought together a diverse group of participants.

More than 70 attendees from the Christian educational community participated in the conference, creating an interfaith synergy among contemporary Christian researchers and practitioners. The two-day event featured insightful and relevant presentations from both Ukrainian and international scholars.

The conference covered a broad range of topics, including nationalism, nationhood, language, missiology, and political theology. Practical theology was also a key focus, addressing pressing contemporary issues.

A notable highlight of this year’s conference was the active involvement of TCI’s students. Their presentations were seamlessly integrated with those of seasoned scholars, adding fresh perspectives to the academic discussions.

This conference underscored the importance of interdisciplinary dialogue and the engagement of the next generation of scholars in critical conversations about theology, nation, and citizenship in the contemporary Ukrainian context.
