Ministry to Refugees

TCI keeps serving the needs of refugees and people in the occupied territories, as the war in Ukraine continues. Besides military actions, our country is facing regular massive missile attacks from the Russian army which aims to destroy our critical infrastructure and put people on the edge of survival in the coming winter.

That is why it is so important to keep providing food, warm clothing, and heating units to the most vulnerable people in war areas.

Moreover, the situation is getting worse, as millions of families are facing hunger and cold in front of the coming winter. With houses destroyed, savings spent, and lacking elementary medical supplies many people will not make it through this winter. That is why it is so important to continue the ministry to these people. Besides food supply, providing warm clothing and heating units will be TCI’s priority in the upcoming months.

Work with the IDPs
TCI continues to distribute food to the refugees in Ivano-Frankivsk, where TCI is currently located. Besides, TCI is serving three meals a day in one of the churches of Frankivsk. In my previous updates, I shared that we distribute food through the network of local churches and our Refugee Center called Filter. Our friends from Eastside Christian Church and Parkside Christian Churches made a great video about the ministry at Filter, that I want to share with you today.

Food Distribution in the Occupied Territories
Every month we see that the threat of hunger is growing in Kherson and the rest of the occupied territories. Kherson and all villages on the right bank of the Dnieper river were recently completely cut off from the food supply.

Moreover, all banks, hospitals, drugstores, hopes, and other important pieces of infrastructure were closed by Russians. The equipment and goods were confiscated and taken by retreating troops and occupational “administration”. Basically, the city and the villages around it were robbed and the civilians are forced to evacuate to far territories of Russia like Syberia and the Far East.

However, that does not mean that the Russian army has left Kherson. Sadly the city and its suburbs have turned into a large military base with thousands of civilians used as a “living shield”.

TCI continues to provide local partner churches with necessary items, however, every day it is more and more difficult. We praise God that our churches remain faithful and keep serving their communities despite of the circumstances.

Evacuation

With Russia’s forced evacuation from the right bank and closing of the borders, evacuation from the occupied territories became impossible. Though, we are still able to evacuate people from the Ukrainian side of the war areas.

Please pray Kherson and the surrounding territories are liberated before winter, otherwise tens of thousands will be placed at the edge of survival and many will not make it through the winter.

Thank you for helping meet the spiritual and physical needs of Ukrainian people, who are going through the most difficult period of their life.

Please keep supporting our ministry and our humanitarian projects, as the need did not become smaller.

There are still thousands of Ukrainians needing God’s Word, healthy teaching, and basic food and heating to make it through the winter in this crisis.
