Ministry to the Persecuted Church

Despite the war, our work in Central Asia continues.

We are grateful to our branch coordinators because, while TCI’s office in Ukraine was evacuating and relocating, they did all the work in their branches on their own.

Throughout the spring, the training was held by national professors. In the summer, TCI professors who live outside of Ukraine got involved in teaching too. Some of the courses were taught online. By September 2022, the training in Central Asia returned to the usual work schedule.

Besides, in 2022 we started running women’s retreats. This year, four women’s retreats have already taken place. We raised funds enough to cover 16 of these retreats. Thanks to that, each of our four branches will have four retreats in total.

Despite the war, we developed a contextualized youth leadership training program for Central Asia. In early 2023, this program will be launched in two countries of Central Asia where we serve.

I was very much encouraged to hear that our Central Asia students also are engaged in helping Ukrainians with their war needs. I heard that one of our Central Asian students donated $500 to TCI’s humanitarian work in Kherson (this is more than an average family makes in a month in these countries).
